On Mission

A renowned minister once said, “You were not born just to make a living. You are here to live out an assignment on this planet. You were born to make a difference in the world.” In effect, he was saying that we are not just to be employed, but to be deployed... to be sent, so that others may come to know and experience GOD’s love for them, as well.

What An Evil Thing!

When people reject God’s standards, they begin a downward spiral into sin and degradation. This process may be gradual and go unnoticed at first, but one compromise with the truth leads to another. Eventually, the culture becomes so hardened to sin that it takes something horrific to shock people and make them ask, “How could such an evil thing happen among us?”

The Onset of Evil

We don’t need to demean others with their apparent disadvantage. We don’t even have the license to belittle someone because of our seemingly advantage over them, either.

Responding To An Enemy

It’s easy to love the lovely, but speaking gentle words from a kind and forgiving heart when you’ve been wronged or provoked is a work of the Holy Spirit. It happens when we give up our agenda and grab hold of God’s.

The Real Treasure of Wisdom and Power

Today, who in this world has the real power? Presidents? Governments? Generals? These people may seem to have power. But, over time, we see a consistent pattern: Rulers come and go. Nations rise and fall. Movements start and end.

The Supreme Being Who Orchestrates

When I was a kid in elementary studying science, it makes me wonder what made the earth revolves around the sun without any visible mechanism. Where has the sun got its apparently unlimited fuel supply that keeps it burning 24/7 with no day-off, and other related questions. Though my teachers gave lots of complex theories which I cannot really understand, this simple observation made me conclude that a Supreme Being, who orchestrated all these, really exists.

Who Am I?

Since we now found our true nature (again) in Jesus, the baton is now on our hand to shine forth God’s light into this lost word. We have been set apart unto God, and the more we walk in our divine identity and in His divine ways, the more we will enjoy God’s blessings.

Not Just Performing

When the lips and the life match, when the talk and the walk are compatible, integrity is achieved. Nothing destroys the work of God’s Kingdom than finding people performing God’s work but failing to live out God’s word... the most wearisome thing to do in our lifetime is to be insincere. So don’t.

Trapped by the Devil

The devil wants do everything in his power to place us in every kind of difficult situations possible to further put us in a TRAP where we doubt of GOD’s promises. And his work is not only limited on a personal level, but generally, on a community and national level, as well.

Know the Value of Others, Even the Least

My former military chaplain had once said, “Nobody has the monopoly of knowledge and intelligences... not even the monopoly of GOD’s blessings.”

Indeed, there are things you know that others don’t, and there are things others know that you don’t. So, we don’t need to compare ourselves with anybody else nor do we need to demean others with their seemingly disadvantage.

The Distracting and Deceiving Fear

Satan's understanding of who we are in Christ is evidenced by his repeated attempts to get us to submit to fear. When we are fully aware of the truth of who we are in Christ, we will not be afraid. The only thing Satan can do is to distract us from this truth.

Fear, which comes from different sort, is the enemy’s scheme to derail us from receiving God’s best for us. Fear is of the enemy and not of GOD... Fear is a generational curse.

Why I’m Retiring Early and Inviting You To Do the Same

I guess I just realized that life is too short to be spent doing something, anything, I don’t want to do. Thinking back, a good part of my life had been spent living for someone or something else. From my studying years to my working years, I had constantly been in mad pursuit of goals which were both set by myself and by the society.

You Are Accepted

Most of us spend our entire lives trying to earn acceptance. We want to earn it from our parents, peers, partners in life, people we respect ourselves, and even people we envy. The desire to be accepted drives us to do all kinds of things. It can influence the kind of clothes you wear, the kind of car you drive, the kind of house you buy, even the career you choose. Would you agree that people do the craziest things to be accepted?

Small Beginnings

Have you ever been afraid to start something for God? God almost always calls us to the very thing that terrifies us. Fear is the opposite of faith. He must kill the fear that lies within us, in order to make us people who solely rely on Him and His Word. Faith is what pleases God.

Difficult People

Difficult people offer a great challenge or an opportunity.  They can be as abrasive as an axe that cuts to the root, or else their acerbic deeds, words, and personalities can serve as a grinding stone, sharpening the edge of your axe.  Instead of allowing them to get to you, you learn from them, profit from their critiques, and gain an inner strength which makes you a better person.

At times God will graciously provide you a mountaintop experience. The mountain is an enticing place to set up camp. But remember, these mountaintop encounters are God’s way of preparing you for the battles that await you.

The devil wants you to spend your life frustrated, anxious, in fear, and out of touch with God. But we have to stop thinking about what's wrong and start focusing our mind on God, who's in control.

Identity Crisis

The answer to the continual search for an identity is always Jesus Christ. What does God say about you and I? Well, He might not tell you whether you are a sanguine or an intuitive thinker or an influential leader, but what He will tell you means more than all the secular books on self-understanding.

Begin the Day in Prayer

Prayer, really, is a very crucial aspect of Christian life, which must be cherished intently by every believer, especially at this very critical period of human existence. I believe that the words of St. Paul admonishing us to devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful (Col. 4:2), is primarily directed and intended to the Church at this very generation of the 21st century.

Lessons from the Titanic

We may be accomplishing great things with God's help, and we look around at our frightening circumstances. Then our faith starts to waver, and we get more than a sinking feeling… At other times, we start to look at our successes and ignore the need to safeguard our spiritual growth. Then we may start to feel unsinkable, like the Titanic.
